BLOG NURLAELI UMAR- Dia berjalan dengan langkah-langkah
panjang, menikmati cahaya rembulan yang membuat semuanya terlihat jelas. Sunyi
tiba-tiba ikut menjadi hening, bahkan angin pun seperti berhenti bertiup. Dengus
He walked with long strides, enjoying the moonlight that
made everything visible. The silence became so sharp, there was truly no sign
of life; the sounds of night insects suddenly grew silent too, even the wind
seemed to stop blowing. His gasp of breath could be heard, though faint—a gasp
that was rounder and fuller.
Dia berjalan sampai ke ujung dekat persawahan. Setelah
merasa cukup dia berjalan kembali ke arah rumahnya. Ini tidak boleh terlalu
lama, tidak ingin kehadirannya terlihat orang lain, apalagi sampai menimbulkan
kericuhan tengah malam karena kemunculannya.
He walked until he reached the edge near the rice fields.
Once he felt it was enough, he walked back toward his house. This shouldn't
take too long; he didn't want his presence to be seen by others, especially not
enough to cause a commotion late at night because of his appearance.
dipergunakan setelah sekian lama. Dia menggeram perlahan, setelah itu kembali
ke bawah rimbun daun kopi. Dua kuntum bunga kopi jatuh mengenai mukanya,
laki-laki itu menjentikkan jemarinya.
There was a slight feeling of satisfaction; apparently, that
object could still be used after such a long time. He growled softly, then
returned beneath the dense coffee leaves. Two coffee flower buds fell onto his
face, and the man flicked his fingers (to brush them off).
Ketika pintu dibuka semua masih sama, istrinya masih tertidur. Sedang bulan di luar masih setia bersinar menggambar bayang-bayang hitam pohon di tanah.
Now, he had changed back into a human figure. He walked
toward the house door which was unlocked. When the door was opened, everything
was still the same; his wife was still asleep. Meanwhile, the moon outside was
still faithfully shining, drawing the black shadows of the trees on the ground.
The man finished the remaining bit of coffee. He took his
wristwatch from the shirt that was hung on the bamboo coat rack before he went
out earlier. Twenty-five minutes, that was better; at least he didn't get
carried away and provoke others who might also be doing the same thing as him. (p16)
